Saudi Arabia maintains key role in supporting OIC and Palestinian cause, analyst says

Political analyst Dr. Furat Al-Bassam said Saudi Arabia continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and strengthening unity on the Palestinian issue.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV, he noted that the foreign minister’s speech highlighted Saudi Arabia’s founding of the OIC in September 1969, during the height of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Al-Bassam pointed out that the organization’s permanent headquarters is in Jeddah, adding that Saudi Arabia is its largest supporter and has maintained balance among its member states.
