Three major road projects launched in Tabuk at SAR 176 million

Three major road projects have been inaugurated in Tabuk region today, with a total investment of 176 million riyals (SAR). The launch ceremony was attended by Tabuk Governor Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the General Authority for Roads, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, along with several senior officials and leaders from the transport and logistics sector.

The projects include repairs to damaged sections on the Tabuk–Madinah, Tabuk–Al-Jouf, and Tabuk–Duba roads. These upgrades are expected to enhance road safety between the region’s governorates and provide improved services and experiences for road users.

Governor Fahd bin Sultan emphasized that these projects reflect the generous support and strong commitment of the Saudi leadership to the development of all regions of the Kingdom. He noted that the initiatives align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve quality of life and promote sustainable development, and praised the efforts of the transport and logistics sector for their role in advancing comprehensive development in Tabuk and its governorates.

Minister Saleh Al-Jasser stated that these projects are part of ongoing government support for the transport and logistics sector. He highlighted that the new roads will facilitate mobility in the region and serve its residents and visitors, noting that they were constructed to the highest safety and quality standards in accordance with the Saudi Road Code.

He also affirmed that the transport and logistics sector will continue working to upgrade the road network, which is a key national enabler for achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and establishing Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub, in line with Vision 2030 targets.

In addition, the governor launched the "Safe and Distinguished Roads" initiative in Tabuk. This program aims to conduct a comprehensive survey and assessment of the region’s road networks outside urban areas, using the world’s largest fleet of survey and assessment vehicles. Residents can also participate by reporting observations through the 938 call center, the app, or social media platforms, recognizing the vital role of the community in maintaining and improving the national road network.

The initiative is particularly significant given Tabuk’s role as a key logistics center. It will focus intensively, over a set period, on the region’s road network, which spans more than 3,850 kilometers, with close cooperation between the community and government agencies. This complements the ongoing surveys and assessments conducted throughout the year by the General Authority for Roads.

A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Tabuk Governorate and the National Transport Safety Center to enhance transport safety in the region. The event included introductory videos about the "Safe and Distinguished Roads" initiative and the newly launched road projects.

These projects and initiatives mark a significant step forward in developing Tabuk’s transport infrastructure, improving road safety, supporting economic and developmental activity, and advancing the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of its transport system in line with Vision 2030.

The ceremony concluded with the governor receiving a commemorative gift from the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services.
