Ethiopian nationals arrested for smuggling khat in Asir

Border Guard land patrols in the Raboua sector of Asir region have arrested two Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations by attempting to smuggle 40 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

According to a statement on the Border Guard’s account on the X platform, initial legal procedures have been completed against the suspects, and both they and the seized items have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Security agencies urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions of the Kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995, or by email at [email protected]. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
