Egyptian heart attack patient airlifted to King Fahd Hospital in Qassim

A Red Crescent air ambulance in Qassim transported an Egyptian resident to King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah after he suffered a severe heart attack in the industrial area east of Al-Bukayriyah.

The resident had called the emergency hotline 997, but was struggling to speak and could not be clearly understood before ground and air ambulance teams responded and confirmed he was showing symptoms of a heart attack.

The teams immediately activated the 'cardiac emergency pathway,' a specialized protocol designed to expedite the transfer of patients to advanced medical centers for timely treatment and to prevent complications.

The transfer was coordinated between ground and air ambulance teams, who arranged a meeting point nearby and secured a landing site for the air ambulance, which then transported the patient to King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah for further treatment.

Activating the cardiac emergency pathway helps reduce response times and speeds up the delivery of critical care for heart attack patients, while also supporting ground ambulance teams in handling cases on highways and in remote areas.

The Qassim branch of the Red Crescent's operations control room receives emergency calls around the clock via the unified number 997, as part of its efforts to provide specialized, rapid, and comprehensive medical care to those in need.
