Alfaisal University president: National Day highlights investment in people and knowledge

Alfaisal University President Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hayaza said that National Day is a moment to reflect on the journey of unity and nation-building established by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and continued by his sons. He noted that the Kingdom’s current scientific and intellectual progress demonstrates the leadership’s commitment to developing human capital, investing in people’s abilities, and empowering them to contribute to national development.

In a statement marking National Day, Dr. Al-Hayaza said: “We celebrate this cherished occasion under the theme ‘Pride in Our Nature,’ recalling the Kingdom’s broad developmental transformation, with education and scientific research as key pillars. The qualitative advances in our universities and research centers, especially in advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, health sciences, and engineering, highlight the importance of investing in Saudi talent, strengthening their global competitiveness, and enabling them to develop solutions and lead future sectors.”

He added that building a sustainable knowledge economy requires an educational and research system capable of transforming knowledge into economic and developmental value, promoting applied research and innovation, and aligning university outputs with the needs of the economy and future sectors. He emphasized that Saudi universities play an increasingly important role in preparing national talent and developing the scientific and technical capabilities needed for the next stage.

The Alfaisal University president pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s preparations to host major global events, including Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, along with the growing presence of international companies in the Kingdom, create broader opportunities for universities to help prepare skilled professionals, advance research and innovation, and build scientific and knowledge partnerships that support the competitiveness of the national economy.

He explained that Alfaisal University continues to develop its academic programs and applied research in line with international standards and the needs of vital sectors. The university is focused on attracting talented scientists, strengthening research and academic partnerships, and supporting its role as a center for education, research, and innovation, contributing to knowledge localization and human capital development.

On this national occasion, Dr. Al-Hayaza, on behalf of the students and staff of Alfaisal University, extended his warmest congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Saudi people. He affirmed that the Kingdom’s development journey demonstrates the nation’s ability to combine heritage with ambition, investing in people and knowledge to build a more prosperous and sustainable future.
