Trump appoints Adam Teal as acting US Army secretary after Driscoll resignation

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the appointment of Adam Teal, the current assistant secretary of the Army for civil affairs, as acting secretary of the Army following the recent resignation of Dan Driscoll.

Trump stated in a post on Truth Social that Adam Teal would assume the role immediately, highlighting Teal's experience in civil affairs within the Department of the Army.

Dan Driscoll, the former US Army secretary, submitted his resignation on September 1 and officially left the position last Tuesday.

The secretary of the Army is the top civilian official overseeing the US Army and heads the Department of the Army, one of three military departments within the US Department of War.
