Above-average rainfall forecast across Saudi Arabia in October

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast rainfall at levels above the climatic average across wide areas of Saudi Arabia in October, with indications that rain may continue into November.

Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesperson for the National Center for Meteorology, said the increased likelihood of rainfall covers Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan, Najran, Qassim, Hail, the Eastern Province, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and the Northern Borders Region, noting that the chances and amounts of rain will vary from one area to another.

Al-Qahtani explained that these forecasts are based on ongoing climate indicators monitored by the center, adding that the details of rainfall events and their timing and distribution become clearer as the period of impact approaches, according to the latest meteorological and climate data.

He added that the center will issue detailed reports on expected rainfall, including affected areas, timing, and developments, urging the public to follow the center’s official reports and bulletins for updates on expected weather conditions.
