Saudi citizen arrested for lighting fire in restricted area of Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended a citizen for violating environmental regulations by lighting a fire in an unauthorized area of the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve, failing to comply with guidelines for protecting vegetation cover. Legal procedures have been taken against the individual.

The forces stated that lighting fires outside designated areas in forests and national parks carries a fine of up to 3,000 riyals (SAR). They urged the public to report any environmental or wildlife violations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated confidentially, with no liability for the informant.
