Thunderstorms, flash floods and strong winds forecast for several regions Monday

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast light to moderate thunderstorms on Monday, leading to flash floods and accompanied by strong winds raising dust and sand across parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah and Madinah. Surface winds stirring dust are also expected in the northern parts of the Eastern Province and in parts of Tabuk and Riyadh. Fog formation is possible overnight and in the early morning along coastal areas of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf.

The report added that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at 20–40 km/h, and southwesterly to northwesterly at 10–35 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h during thunderstorm activity. Wave heights will range from half a meter to 1.5 meters, exceeding 2 meters during thunderstorms, with sea conditions from slight to moderate, becoming rough with thunderclouds.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly at 10–30 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter and slight sea conditions.
