Saudi Red Crescent in Al-Baha hails national policy to boost emergency safety

Sultan bin Saad Al-Maliki, Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Al-Baha branch, has emphasized the critical importance of time in life-threatening emergency situations. He noted that improving response speed and readiness are key factors in saving lives, as every minute saved in emergency response can mean a life rescued, and every second can make the difference between life and death.

Al-Maliki made these remarks while expressing his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman following the Cabinet’s approval of the national policy to enhance emergency safety in public places and workplaces. He praised the leadership’s strong commitment to public health and safety, and its ongoing efforts to strengthen prevention, preparedness, and emergency response capabilities.

He stressed that this approval reflects the continuous support for the Kingdom’s health and emergency sectors, representing a significant step toward promoting a culture of emergency safety, raising community awareness, and achieving coordination among relevant authorities. This, he said, will help ensure faster handling of emergencies and better protection of lives.

Al-Maliki also commended the Minister of Health for supporting national initiatives that reinforce the concept of “health in all policies,” strengthen prevention and preparedness, and help build safer environments in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve quality of life.

He further praised Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, for his role in developing emergency services, enhancing the Authority’s readiness, and supporting programs and initiatives that spread emergency awareness and empower the public to respond to emergencies.

Al-Maliki explained that this national policy builds on ongoing efforts to protect lives and improve emergency response in public places and workplaces. He affirmed that the Al-Baha branch continues its humanitarian mission, spreading emergency knowledge and strengthening community partnerships to fulfill the leadership’s vision.
