Ethiopian national arrested in Asir for smuggling 96 kg of khat

Border Guard land patrols in the Raboua sector of Asir region have arrested an Ethiopian national for violating border security regulations by smuggling 96 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

According to a statement on the Border Guard's official X account, initial legal procedures have been completed against the suspect, and both he and the seized materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Security authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 994 in other regions. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995, or by email at [email protected]. All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
