Saudi, UK foreign ministers discuss maritime security cooperation

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from Ed Miliband, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, the call addressed regional developments. At the start of the conversation, Prince Faisal renewed his country's solidarity with the UK following attacks launched by the Houthi militia, and affirmed the Kingdom's right to take necessary measures to defend its security and interests in accordance with international law.

The two ministers also discussed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to ensure the security and freedom of navigation in maritime corridors, contributing to regional stability and the protection of global trade and supply chains amid the ongoing crisis.
