Riyadh Parking to launch free managed parking in Al-Nakheel district Sunday

Riyadh Parking will begin operating managed parking in the Al-Nakheel district next Sunday, bringing the total number of residential neighborhoods covered by the system in Riyadh to 18. This gradual expansion aims to curb negative practices and prevent vehicles from commercial streets spilling into residential areas, while maintaining parking priority for residents and their guests.

The activation of managed parking in Al-Nakheel follows its implementation in several other neighborhoods, including Al-Wurud, Al-Rahmaniyah, Al-Muruj, Al-Olaya, Al-Sulaimania, Al-Mohammadiyah, King Abdullah, King Salman, Al-Masif, Al-Mursalat, Al-Quds, King Fahd, Al-Maathar Al-Shamali, Al-Mughrizat, Al-Nuzha, Al-Taawun, and Al-Ezdihar, as part of the phased rollout.

Free permits for residents and visitors

The system allows residents of covered neighborhoods to obtain free annual residential permits for all their vehicles with no upper limit, through the Riyadh Parking app after registering their national address. Visitors can access two types of permits: a general invitation permit valid for up to 24 hours without needing to enter vehicle details, and a special invitation permit valid for up to three days, requiring vehicle details and allowing up to 20 vehicles, with no need to provide a national ID when issuing the permit.

First-degree relatives of residents can also benefit by adding the resident's address to their national address and using the visitor permit service, just like neighborhood residents.

Awareness campaign and digital monitoring

Before activation in each neighborhood, an awareness campaign is conducted to inform residents about the managed parking system and permit procedures. Riyadh Parking follows a gradual approach to raise awareness and encourage compliance before issuing violations, sending warning messages to unauthorized vehicles to allow time for permit issuance before a violation is recorded.

Organizers noted that all permits are issued instantly via the app, and monitoring cameras automatically read license plates to verify valid permits. Riyadh Parking urged users to ensure the accuracy of their registered license plate data, especially when entered manually, to guarantee correct monitoring and verification.
