Eight Yemenis and Ethiopians arrested for khat smuggling in Jazan

Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Dayer sector of Jazan region have arrested eight individuals of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationality for violating border security regulations and attempting to smuggle 160 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

According to a statement on the Border Guard's official X account, initial legal procedures have been completed, and both the detainees and the seized contraband have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

Security authorities urged citizens and residents to cooperate and report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions of the Kingdom. The General Directorate of Narcotics Control can also be reached at 995. Authorities stressed that all reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.
