Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast for several Saudi regions Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms on Tuesday, accompanied by hail and strong winds raising dust and sand, affecting parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah regions. Lighter to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Madinah. Fog formation is also possible in these areas and along the eastern coastal region.

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 20–40 km/h, and northwesterly to northeasterly at 10–30 km/h, exceeding 50 km/h with the formation of thunderstorm clouds. Wave heights will range from half a meter to 1.5 meters, rising above 2 meters during thunderstorms. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate, becoming rough with thunderstorm activity.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwesterly to northerly at 10–35 km/h, shifting from northeasterly to easterly and then to northwesterly after noon at 10–25 km/h. Wave heights will be between half a meter and one meter, with slight sea conditions expected.
