Civil Defense issues early warning for Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, Abha and Jazan

Saudi Civil Defense has issued an alert via the National Early Warning Platform for emergencies in the governorates of Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, the city of Abha, and the Jazan region, warning citizens and residents of a potential threat and urging them to follow official instructions to ensure safety.

Civil Defense emphasized the importance of remaining calm and immediately moving to the nearest safe place inside a building or an interior room away from windows, and staying there until the danger has passed. It also stressed not to leave the house or building until it is confirmed that the emergency situation is over.

Safety guidelines during the alert

Civil Defense advised people to avoid open areas and glass, and not to stand on balconies or rooftops. Those outdoors were urged to enter the nearest building or take cover behind a solid barrier.

Additionally, Civil Defense urged the public to avoid gathering or taking photos, and to stay away from hazardous locations upon receiving the warning message. Drivers who receive the alert while on the road should pull over to the side, away from bridges and tall buildings.

Authorities noted that in case of any danger, people should call the emergency number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 998 in other areas of the Kingdom.
