Saudi, Turkish justice ministers discuss boosting legal cooperation in Ankara

Saudi Minister of Justice Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani met with Turkish Minister of Justice Akin Gurlek during an official visit to Turkey to discuss ways to enhance judicial and legal cooperation between the two countries. The talks focused on implementing areas outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed between the two ministries, supporting the exchange of expertise and experiences, and developing cooperation in fields of mutual interest.

The two sides reviewed several areas of collaboration, including digital transformation, judicial training, knowledge exchange, and professional visits between specialists, as well as the development of judicial services and procedures.

Al-Samaani also visited the Turkish Constitutional Court, where he met with the court’s president, Kadir Özkaya, and was briefed on the court’s work and jurisdiction.

Both parties emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the relevant authorities and working to activate areas of cooperation that serve the shared interests of both countries.

The minister was accompanied during the visit by Saudi Ambassador to Turkey Fahd bin Asaad Abu Al-Nasr.
