Prince Faisal bin Salman witnesses MoU signing between King Fahd Library and Bahrain's Derasat Center

Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and chairman of the board of trustees of King Fahd National Library, received Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and chairman of the board of trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), along with his accompanying delegation, at the library’s headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen scientific and knowledge cooperation, as well as opportunities for integration between research centers and national libraries in both countries.

Prince Faisal bin Salman witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between King Fahd National Library and Derasat. The MoU was signed by Acting CEO Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Hammoudi for the library, and CEO Abdullah Mohammed Al Ahmed for the center.

Objectives and scope of the MoU

The agreement aims to enhance fruitful cooperation in scientific research and support knowledge communities. It covers knowledge and scientific exchange, staff exchanges and skill development, information and document sharing, as well as organizing seminars, conferences, and workshops, and developing joint training plans and programs.

The signing of the MoU continues the intellectual collaboration between relevant institutions in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, reinforcing research, historical documentation, and knowledge creation.

Recognition and partnership affirmation

Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa presented Prince Faisal bin Salman with an honorary fellowship from Derasat, in recognition of his contributions to supporting knowledge, scientific research, and preserving national memory.

Prince Faisal bin Salman stated that the MoU extends the ongoing partnership with Bahrain in research and studies, serving as a model for integration between institutions dedicated to preserving, producing, and providing access to knowledge.

Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude to Prince Faisal bin Salman for the warm welcome, praising the role of King Fahd National Library in preserving and providing intellectual output.
