Saudi environmental police arrest citizen for transporting local firewood in Madinah

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended a citizen for violating environmental regulations by transporting three cubic meters of local firewood in the Madinah region. Legal measures were taken against the individual, and the seized firewood was handed over to the relevant authorities.

The forces explained that the penalty for transporting local firewood or charcoal can reach up to 16,000 riyals (SAR) per cubic meter. They urged the public to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be handled confidentially, with no liability for the informant.
