Jose Antonio Ejercito Goitia, a prominent Filipino investor in Saudi Arabia, has said that Saudi-Philippine relations are undergoing a qualitative shift beyond the traditional focus on labor and remittances, moving toward a broader strategic partnership that includes investment, services, food security, energy, and human capital development in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

He noted that "relations between Riyadh and Manila are built on strong historical, humanitarian, and cultural ties, reinforced by decades of diplomatic cooperation and the presence of one of the largest overseas Filipino communities in the Kingdom."

Goitia highlighted that "hundreds of thousands of Filipinos have contributed over decades to vital sectors such as healthcare, engineering, education, construction, technical services, and hospitality," adding that their contributions have supported Saudi Arabia's development while also bolstering the Philippine economy through remittances.

He explained that the next phase requires moving from the concept of "labor export" to "partnership building," pointing out that the Kingdom's mega-projects are opening up significant opportunities for Filipino companies and expertise in tourism, renewable energy, healthcare, digital services, logistics, and the food industry.

Goitia noted that food security is among the most prominent areas for future cooperation, given the Philippines' agricultural and food production capabilities and Saudi Arabia's growing focus on strengthening supply chains and agricultural investment, alongside promising opportunities in renewable energy and advanced technologies.

He added that Saudi Vision 2030 has reshaped the Kingdom's position in the global economy, making it an attractive economic and investment hub for companies, expertise, and capital. He stressed that the Philippines is well positioned to be an active partner in this phase through its companies, educational institutions, agricultural sector, and entrepreneurs.

Goitia emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation channels between the private sectors of both countries to transform historical relations into sustainable economic partnerships and joint ventures.

On the human level, he said that relations between the Saudi and Filipino peoples form a cornerstone of the bilateral partnership, built on longstanding experiences in the workplace and society, giving the relationship strength, stability, and greater prospects for future growth.
