Qassim Municipality steps up floodwater drainage preparations in Asyah

Qassim Municipality, through the Asyah Governorate branch, has intensified cleaning and maintenance of floodwater channels and rainwater drainage systems at several sites across the governorate. The initiative is part of proactive efforts to enhance preparedness for the rainy season and improve infrastructure efficiency.

The work includes removing dirt, sediment, weeds, debris, and other obstructions from floodwater channels and rainwater drainage systems, including their inlets and outlets, using specialized equipment and machinery. These measures aim to ensure smooth water flow, reduce water accumulation, and maintain the safety of roads and public facilities.

Asyah Municipality head, Engineer Ghazi bin Muhallam Al-Dhafiri, stated that the municipality continues preventive maintenance and field monitoring of floodwater channels and drainage systems as part of its rainy season preparedness plans. These efforts are designed to minimize potential risks, protect lives and property, and enhance public safety.
