Environmental security arrests three violators in Asir and Imam Faisal bin Turki Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended three individuals for violating environmental regulations in two separate incidents in the Asir region and the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. Legal measures have been taken against them as part of ongoing efforts to enforce environmental protection laws and preserve vegetation cover.

In Asir, the forces detained two expatriates of Pakistani and Indian nationalities for exploiting natural deposits. Two pieces of equipment used for soil excavation and transport were also seized, and legal action was taken against the offenders.

In the second incident, a Saudi citizen was arrested in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve for violating environmental regulations by lighting a fire outside designated areas, contrary to guidelines aimed at protecting vegetation.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security stated that the penalty for lighting fires outside designated areas in forests and national parks can reach 3,000 riyals (SAR).

Authorities urged citizens and residents to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 or 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. They assured that all reports will be handled confidentially and without liability for the informant.
