Istishlaa platform seeks public input on 28 economic, development projects

The unified electronic platform for public and governmental consultation, Istishlaa, operated by the National Competitiveness Center, has launched 28 projects related to economic and development issues. This initiative, in cooperation with 20 government entities, aims to enable stakeholders to submit their views and suggestions on these projects before they are finalized.

Among the projects, the Ministry of Justice has introduced the draft executive regulations for the Enforcement Law. The initiative aims to improve the efficiency of enforcement procedures and contract execution, strengthen preventive justice, and enhance the effectiveness of executive contracts. It also seeks to ensure swift delivery of rights, safeguard the fundamental rights of those subject to enforcement, serve the public interest, and keep pace with digital transformation and the development of financial and non-financial enforcement procedures. Public consultation on this project will close on September 29, 2026.

In a related move, the Transport General Authority has published proposed amendments to the executive regulations governing ride-hailing mediation via electronic apps. The changes would allow self-driving vehicles to be used for passenger transport through these platforms. Feedback on this project will be accepted until October 1, 2026.

Additionally, the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing has released draft municipal requirements for regulating scrapyard sites. The project aims to organize these locations and raise compliance standards by specifying the necessary municipal requirements for activities within them. The goal is to improve the urban landscape, enhance safety, and reduce unregulated practices and their negative impacts. Consultation on this project will also close on October 1, 2026.

The publication of draft laws and regulations on the Istishlaa platform is part of efforts to promote transparency in the legislative environment, foster a culture of public consultation among citizens, government agencies, and the private sector, and involve them in shaping projects that impact the business environment.
