Twelve arrested in Jazan for smuggling 240kg of khat

Border Guard ground patrols in the Al-Dayer sector of Jazan region have arrested 12 Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations by attempting to smuggle 240 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

The Border Guard stated that initial legal procedures have been completed against the suspects, and both the detainees and the seized materials have been handed over to the competent authorities.

Security authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 or 994 in other regions, or the General Directorate of Narcotics Control hotline at 995. Reports can also be submitted by email at (Email:[email protected]). All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
