Under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh and honorary president of the Riyadh Economic Forum, will inaugurate the 12th edition of the forum on Monday on behalf of the King. The event will be attended by a number of senior officials, experts, specialists, and representatives from both the public and private sectors.

The forum will discuss five studies addressing key economic and development issues. Topics include enhancing the use of smart agriculture technologies through artificial intelligence and other advanced tools to achieve food and water security in Saudi Arabia. The forum will also review strategies for transferring and localizing knowledge and expertise among local talent, examining their impact on the performance of Saudi organizations, mechanisms for knowledge transfer, and strengthening national capabilities to support sustainable institutional development and improve efficiency.

Other topics include a study on "Traffic congestion in major cities: causes and solutions," which will explore the reasons behind congestion, its impacts, and potential solutions to improve urban transport efficiency and mitigate economic, social, and environmental effects. Another study will focus on "Measuring the impact of legislation and public policies to support sustainable development and Saudi Vision 2030," aiming to develop tools for assessing the effectiveness of policies and linking their outcomes to development goals, thus supporting evidence-based decision-making. The forum will also discuss "Maximizing the economic and social returns from hosting Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup," exploring how Saudi Arabia can leverage these global events to create economic and development opportunities, boost investment, support local content, diversify the economy, and open new prospects for the private sector.

Since its launch in 2003, the Riyadh Economic Forum has played a key role in addressing priority economic and development issues through specialized studies and broad participation from experts, academics, decision-makers, and private sector representatives. The forum's previous sessions have produced recommendations and initiatives on a range of economic and development topics, contributing to policy decisions and reinforcing its role as a platform that brings together stakeholders to address national economic concerns and support decision-making.
