Saudi Arabia forms scientific committee of 40 experts for Nuclear Science Olympiad in Jeddah

Anas Al-Wafi, chair of the scientific committee for hosting the International Nuclear Science Olympiad, said the committee includes 40 local and international experts.

Speaking in a televised interview on Al Ekhbariya, Al-Wafi added that these experts are responsible for developing a diverse set of questions to enhance the quality of the Olympiad's tests and ensure transparency and fairness.

He explained that work on the scientific committee in the Kingdom began some time ago through the preparatory committee, which includes relevant experts. After conducting the necessary workshops, the questions were refined. The committee features local experts from King Abdulaziz University, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, Mawhiba, as well as other local universities and government entities.

Al-Wafi noted that this aims to ensure rigorous scientific diversity in the questions, highlighting that hosting the Olympiad is an international event that reflects Saudi Arabia's scientific capabilities.

Saudi Arabia has received official approval to host the third edition of the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO 2026), which will take place in Jeddah from August 2 to 9, 2026, with 19 countries participating and around 120 students and scientific specialists expected to attend.
