The Human Resources Development Fund has announced it will raise the minimum subsidized wage under its employment support program in two phases, increasing it to 5,000 riyals per month starting April 25, 2027, and then to 6,000 riyals per month from April 25, 2028. This move aims to empower national talent, enhance their competitiveness in the labor market, and develop support tools in line with goals to improve job quality and sustainability. It also seeks to encourage private sector companies to attract Saudi professionals, thereby increasing Saudi participation in the workforce and supporting economic development targets.

This decision coincides with the phased implementation of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's policy to raise the minimum wage required for counting Saudi workers under the "Nitaqat" program.

The Fund clarified that the adjustment will be implemented in two stages: the first phase begins on April 25, 2027, raising the minimum subsidized wage from 4,000 riyals to 5,000 riyals per month for new applications. The change will apply to existing support requests starting from May 2027.

The second phase starts on April 25, 2028, increasing the minimum subsidized wage from 5,000 riyals to 6,000 riyals per month for new applications, with the adjustment applying to existing support requests from May 2028.

The Fund confirmed it will continue to subsidize up to 50% of the monthly wage for Saudi employees benefiting from the program, with a maximum of 3,000 riyals per month, according to approved regulations and conditions. This aims to maximize private sector benefit from support programs and promote the employment of national talent across various economic sectors.

The employment support program is one of the Fund's initiatives to encourage private sector companies to hire Saudis by covering part of their salaries, supporting job opportunities, enhancing job stability, and improving investment in national human capital.
