Islamic affairs minister thanks leadership for mosque protection decision

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, following the Cabinet’s decision to include mosques and their facilities among public facilities protected under the Public Facilities Protection Law, until the new Endowments Law comes into effect.

He affirmed that this decision reflects the leadership’s great care for mosques, their ongoing commitment to their protection and preservation, and efforts to enhance all aspects that ensure their maintenance and improve services, enabling worshippers to perform their prayers in an atmosphere of peace and reverence.

He said: "This generous attention to mosques is not surprising from a leadership that has made serving Islam and Muslims, as well as caring for and developing mosques, a top priority. At the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, we are deeply aware of the responsibility and trust placed upon us, and we will continue to work diligently to preserve mosques and their facilities, and to implement all measures necessary for their protection and maintenance, in accordance with the directives of our wise leadership."

He noted that the decision strengthens the system for protecting mosques and their facilities, underscores their importance, and highlights the care given to their amenities, equipment, and resources. He stressed that the ministry will continue to fulfill its responsibilities in caring for mosques, maintaining them, and dedicating its resources to serve worshippers.

In conclusion, he prayed for God to protect the King and the Crown Prince, to reward them for their care and attention to mosques, and to grant the Kingdom continued security, stability, pride, and prosperity.
