Saudi Arabia to grant 500 riyal monthly allowance to public sector workers and retirees from January 2027

King Salman has ordered, following a recommendation by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, an increase of 500 riyals in the monthly allowance for civil and military employees on the civil service pay scales and operating program contracts.

The allowance will also cover retirees and the family members of deceased contributors or retirees under the social insurance system.

This measure is part of a package of initiatives to support citizens, coinciding with the announcement by Saudi Energy Company and the National Water Company of changes to electricity and water tariffs, effective January 1, 2027.
