Three arrested for unlicensed hunting in Sharaan Nature Reserve

Field patrols from the Special Forces for Environmental Security, while enforcing environmental regulations in the Sharaan Nature Reserve, arrested three Saudi citizens for hunting without a license. Authorities seized a firearm and 448 rounds of various ammunition. The individuals were detained, legal procedures were taken against them, and they were referred to the relevant authorities.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security emphasized the importance of complying with environmental laws and their executive regulations, which prohibit the hunting of wild animals. They noted that using firearms for hunting carries a fine of 80,000 riyals (SAR), hunting rock hyrax incurs a 25,000 riyals fine, hunting without a license is subject to a 10,000 riyals fine, and hunting in prohibited areas results in a 5,000 riyals fine.

The forces urged the public to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other areas of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated confidentially, and informants will bear no responsibility.
