Traffic authority outlines key driver obligations on the road

The General Directorate of Traffic has stressed the importance of drivers adhering to road regulations, stating that this enhances their safety and the safety of all road users.

Through its X platform account, the Traffic Department outlined the main obligations for drivers while on the road, which include:

• Driving within the designated speed limits.

• Using brakes only when necessary.

• Stopping at stop signs and checkpoints.

• Not driving against the flow of traffic.

• Not blocking pedestrians while they are crossing.

• Using warning devices only when necessary.

• Maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.

• Complying with traffic signals.

• Not using any handheld device while driving.

• Wearing a seatbelt.

• Staying within designated lanes and ensuring it is safe before changing lanes.
