Saudi Arabia sees 89% improvement in online gaming response times

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission has released the fifth edition of its "Saudi Internet" report, revealing an 89% improvement in response times for the most popular online games in the Kingdom, positively impacting service quality and performance.

According to the commission’s official account, the report showed that several leading games recorded low latency rates, with response times reaching 11 milliseconds for "Teamfight Tactics" and "League of Legends," and 12 milliseconds for "Mobile Legends."

In terms of gaming platforms, smartphones led usage at 22.1%, followed by PlayStation at 21.8%. Regarding play frequency, weekly gaming was most common at 32.1%, followed by intermittent play at 31%, and daily gaming at 29.2%.

For the Internet of Things (IoT), the report noted 13.85 million subscriptions, with NB-IoT coverage reaching about 99% of the urban population, supported by more than 30,000 towers. Household IoT adoption stood at 18%.

These indicators reflect the readiness of Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure to accommodate growing internet usage, including online gaming and device-to-device applications. The Kingdom also ranked first globally in the International Telecommunication Union’s 2025 Digital Readiness Index, further strengthening its position in the digital economy and innovation, supported by Saudi Vision 2030.
