Saudi communications minister, UN official discuss digital partnership and sustainable development

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha met with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua in New York, in the presence of Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen digital partnerships and accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals through comprehensive digital transformation, as well as developing cooperation in the field of digital government.

Both sides discussed supporting digital capacity building in developing countries and exchanging expertise and best practices to help create more inclusive and innovative digital governments.

Saudi Arabia’s role in international digital cooperation

This meeting is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to support international cooperation, harness modern technologies to enhance government services and efficiency, and enable communities to benefit from opportunities in the digital era.
