Qassim showcases palm and date services at Buraidah International Carnival

The Qassim branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, represented by its Buraidah office, showcased its efforts to support the palm and date sector through a dedicated pavilion held alongside the Buraidah International Dates Carnival.

The pavilion featured specialized sections on palm care, pest prevention and control, as well as demonstrations of harvesting, handling, and storage techniques. Visitors also learned about methods for inspecting dates and detecting pesticide residues, helping to ensure product safety and enhance quality and economic value.

Badr bin Lafi Al-Harbi, Director of the Ministry's Buraidah office, said the branch's participation builds on the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the palm and date ecosystem, and to strengthen direct engagement with farmers, producers, and consumers to share knowledge and expand the adoption of modern agricultural practices.

Al-Harbi emphasized that integrated efforts across all stages of date production contribute to improving the sector's efficiency, product quality, and competitiveness. He added that such participation supports the sustainability of the palm and date industry and reinforces Qassim's position as one of the Kingdom's leading date-producing regions.
