Saudi date seasons launch nationwide to boost marketing and sales

The National Center for Palms and Dates has announced the launch of seasonal date markets across various regions of Saudi Arabia under the banner of 'Tamourna Seasons.' The initiative aims to highlight the finest Saudi date varieties and bring together farmers, marketers, and buyers through an electronic platform that organizes sales and purchases and enhances market efficiency.

The center explained that 'Tamourna Seasons' includes several prominent seasonal markets, such as the Ataiqah Date Season, Buraidah Date Carnival, Unaizah International Date Season, Madinah Date Season, Jeddah Date Season, and the Al-Ahsa Saram Season, reflecting the country's geographic diversity and the wide range and quality of its dates.

The center noted that these seasons are designed to strengthen the cultural and social heritage associated with dates in Saudi Arabia and maximize economic returns for farmers, marketers, and buyers. This is achieved through marketing and agricultural activities and a variety of programs targeting visitors, traders, and international importers.

Electronic platform to regulate date trading

The center added that the seasonal markets platform, launched in 2023, serves as an integrated electronic system to organize and document transactions among all parties. This supports transparency and provides accurate data on quantities, prices, and varieties. Registration on the platform is a prerequisite for conducting sales in the participating markets.

In the same context, the center emphasized that the launch of 'Tamourna Seasons' builds on its ongoing efforts to develop a robust marketing environment for Saudi dates, enhance sales efficiency, and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to grow the agricultural sector and strengthen its contribution to the national economy.
