Multinational maritime defense alliance becomes effective operational force: analyst

Political analyst Dr. Baraka Al-Hoshan said the multinational maritime defense alliance has shifted from a political and legal entity to an effective operational military framework.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, Al-Hoshan added that this transformation strengthens military coordination in facing regional maritime threats, as participating countries have begun to establish a maritime deterrence force.

He noted that the alliance is changing the traditional model for addressing maritime threats in the region. The alliance's most recent meeting focused on integrating capabilities, preparing for operational implementation, and defining each country's contributions.

Abdullah Al-Shehri, commander of the maritime defense alliance, affirmed that any threat to freedom of navigation will be met with deterrence by a diverse group of nations operating under unified leadership, sharing intelligence and resources, and integrating their capabilities. He added that the expansion of threats will not reduce international maritime activity, but rather accelerate the integration and deployment of alliance capabilities within the area of responsibility.
