Saudi crown prince, French president co-chair strategic partnership council in Paris

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman met with French President Emmanuel Macron today at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

During their bilateral meeting, the two leaders reviewed the historic and strategic relationship between Saudi Arabia and France and explored ways to enhance cooperation across all fields. They also exchanged views on recent regional and international developments and coordinated joint efforts on these issues.

Following the meeting, the crown prince and the French president co-chaired the inaugural session of the Strategic Partnership Council between the two governments. The council discussed several agenda items, and the minutes of the meeting were signed.

New agreements and memorandums of understanding

The crown prince and the French president attended a ceremony to exchange a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding, including:

• An agreement to extend and amend the bilateral accord on cultural, environmental, tourism, human, economic, and heritage development in AlUla.
• A declaration of intent between the two defense ministries to strengthen defense partnership.
• A memorandum of understanding to explore the development of a new world-class, multi-use entertainment destination in France.
• A memorandum of understanding between the ministries of communications and information technology to cooperate in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and skills development.

The signing ceremony was attended by several Saudi ministers and the official French delegation.
