Education and media ministries launch registration for gifted media school in Madinah

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Media launched today the registration platform for the "Gifted Media School," which will begin its first phase in Madinah. The initiative aims to identify and develop media talents among first-year secondary students, equipping a new generation with the skills needed to compete in the media sector in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The platform launch follows an announcement by the ministers of education and media about the initiative, which adopts an educational model combining academic curricula with practical media training. The school will focus on developing media skills through specialized tracks, including marketing, media planning, journalism, and media presentation.

Specialized programs and learning environment

Organizers explained that the school follows the public school model with the addition of specialized media programs. The national curriculum is taught during regular school hours, while media-focused programs are offered after school under the supervision of both ministries, integrating academic knowledge with hands-on experience.

The school provides a practical learning environment, including training halls, studios for filming, audio, and editing, as well as dedicated labs for producing journalistic and digital media content.

Admission process and training tracks

Student admission is based on assessments of language and creative skills in writing, news storytelling, presentation, and media analysis, in addition to a personal interview, critical thinking evaluation, and submission of a sample media product such as a video, podcast, or article.

The ministries emphasized that the launch of the school is part of a broader expansion of specialized schools for gifted students, helping to prepare national talent that combines academic excellence with media training and meets the evolving needs of the media sector and future job market.
