Pakistani executed in Madinah for smuggling heroin into Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Interior today issued a statement regarding the execution of a convicted individual in the Madinah region. The statement reads as follows:

Allah Almighty said: "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation" and "Do not seek corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters," and "Allah does not like corruption," and "The penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment."

Amir Khan, a Pakistani national, was found guilty of smuggling heroin into the Kingdom. Thanks to God, security authorities were able to apprehend the offender. Following an investigation, he was formally charged with the crime. Upon referral to the competent court, a verdict was issued confirming his guilt and sentencing him to death as a discretionary punishment. The ruling was upheld on appeal and by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to carry out the sentence in accordance with Islamic law.

The death sentence was carried out against Amir Khan, a Pakistani national, on Wednesday, 20/3/1448 AH, corresponding to September 2, 2026, in the Madinah region.

The Ministry of Interior, in announcing this, affirms the Saudi government's commitment to protecting citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and to imposing the strictest legal penalties on smugglers and dealers due to the loss of innocent lives, severe harm to individuals and society, and violation of rights they cause. The Ministry also warns that anyone who commits such crimes will face the prescribed legal punishment.
