Fijian conjoined twins arrive in Riyadh for separation assessment

Fijian conjoined twins Jesibel and Desisya arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Monday from the Republic of Fiji Islands, following directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

Upon arrival, the twins and their family were transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital under the Ministry of National Guard, where they will undergo a thorough medical evaluation to determine the feasibility of a separation surgery.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and head of the Saudi conjoined twins program’s medical and surgical team, said this humanitarian initiative reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to helping those in need without discrimination, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in this specialized medical field.

Al-Rabeeah added that the ongoing success of the Saudi conjoined twins program has helped establish the Kingdom as a global medical center for complex cases, thanks to God and the advanced expertise of Saudi professionals.

The twins’ family expressed their gratitude to the government and people of Saudi Arabia for the warm welcome, care, and prompt attention given to their daughters.
