Saudi national executed in Eastern Province for amphetamine smuggling

The Ministry of Interior today issued a statement regarding the execution of a convicted individual in the Eastern Province. The statement reads as follows:

God Almighty said: "And do not cause corruption on the earth after it has been set in order," and He also said: "Do not seek corruption in the land; indeed, God does not like corrupters," and "God does not like corruption," and "The penalty for those who wage war against God and His Messenger and strive to spread corruption on earth is that they be killed, crucified, have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment."

Mohammed bin Nafi bin Rakan Al-Shammari, a Saudi national, was found guilty of smuggling amphetamine tablets into the Kingdom. Security authorities apprehended the offender, and following an investigation, he was charged with committing the crime. He was referred to the competent court, which convicted him and sentenced him to death as a discretionary punishment. The verdict was upheld on appeal and confirmed by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to carry out the sentence in accordance with Islamic law.

The execution of Mohammed bin Nafi bin Rakan Al-Shammari, a Saudi national, was carried out on Thursday, March 21, 1448 AH, corresponding to September 3, 2026, in the Eastern Province.

The Ministry of Interior, by announcing this, affirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to protecting citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs and to imposing the strictest legal penalties on traffickers and dealers, due to the grave harm they cause to innocent lives, individuals, and society. The Ministry also warns that anyone who commits such crimes will face the prescribed legal punishment.
