National Center for Water Efficiency opens entries for Maee Award

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Maee) has begun accepting applications for the Maee Water Efficiency Award starting Thursday, as part of its efforts to foster a competitive environment that encourages innovation, highlights initiatives supporting optimal resource use, and advances water sustainability.

The center invited organizations and individuals from all targeted groups to visit the award’s website and register under its designated categories. The award is one of the center’s strategic initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, enhancing excellence in water efficiency and conservation, and strengthening a culture of water sustainability across sectors and society.

The award seeks to raise awareness about the importance of water efficiency and conservation, encourage outstanding practices, and honor impactful achievements with lasting benefits.

There are three main award categories: water efficiency and conservation practices, promoting a culture of water conservation, and Maee partners. These categories are open to government entities, the private sector, non-profit organizations, as well as communities and individuals, according to specific criteria and regulations for each category.

The center noted that winners of the Maee Water Efficiency Award will receive official recognition for their contributions to water efficiency and conservation. In addition, individual winners will be awarded financial prizes in appreciation of their efforts to raise water awareness and promote responsible behaviors.

The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation launched the Maee Water Efficiency Award under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Mansour Al-Mushaiti, during his participation in Saudi Water Week 2026, which was recently held in Jeddah.
