Saudi grand mufti urges border guards and coalition forces to stand firm

The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and President of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, issued a statement to border guards and coalition forces, commending their efforts in defending the nation and protecting the holy sites of Islam.

In his statement, Al-Fawzan emphasized that Saudi Arabia is distinguished by unity and solidarity under its leadership, noting that serving and caring for the Two Holy Mosques is a great honor the Kingdom has held since its founding.

The Grand Mufti explained that guarding the borders and repelling aggression are among the greatest duties and most virtuous acts, adding that those stationed at the frontlines have been granted great merit and reward by God, citing Quranic verses and prophetic traditions on the virtue of defending the faith.

Al-Fawzan advised border guards to remain patient, steadfast, obedient to their leaders and field commanders, and to carry out orders diligently, affirming that they are following the example of the Prophet’s companions in defending the holy sites and upholding monotheism.

Call for unity among coalition forces

Al-Fawzan also extended his greetings and appreciation to coalition forces, urging them to unite, stand together, and hold fast to God’s guidance in confronting the Houthis, whom he described as a group of evil and agents of the enemies, warning against their corrupt beliefs and practices.

The Grand Mufti stressed that restoring security and stability in Yemen under its legitimate leadership is a paramount duty, so that Yemenis may enjoy peace and stability and their country can join the path of progress and development in the Islamic world.

Concluding his statement, Al-Fawzan prayed for God’s support for the border guards and coalition forces, for the protection of Saudi Arabia and Yemen from all harm, and for the defeat of the Houthis and their allies.
