Preventive measures for Hajj pilgrims begin before arrival, says health official

Deputy Minister of Health for Health Services Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aali said, "We do not view prevention as a reaction to events, but as a proactive step to ensure the comfort of Hajj pilgrims before they arrive in the Kingdom."

Speaking at the Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Research Forum, Al-Abd Al-Aali added that "the health system and sector have undergone fundamental changes in their structure and governance under Saudi Vision 2030, and all sectors of the health system work year-round to serve the pilgrims."

He continued, "Everyone—from the Ministry of Health and specialized bodies such as the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Public Health Authority, and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority—works together with other agencies and national centers to supervise, monitor, support, and guide healthcare providers."
