Education minister: Transforming Ehsan into independent nonprofit to boost community investment

Education Minister Yousef Al-Benyan said that transforming the national charitable platform Ehsan into an independent nonprofit organization will support the sustainability of community investment by enhancing services, improving governance, and launching specialized initiatives across various fields, including education.

Al-Benyan explained on his X account that this institutional transformation will help ensure that support reaches beneficiaries efficiently and reliably, in line with the Kingdom’s human development goals.

His comments followed a royal decree converting the national charitable platform Ehsan into an independent nonprofit organization, now named Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work. The move is part of an institutional transformation aimed at strengthening charitable work, expanding donation opportunities, and improving the efficiency of Saudi Arabia’s nonprofit sector.

A royal order also appointed Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi as chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees, with Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi as his deputy. Board membership will last for three years and may be renewed.

The Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work aims to enhance charitable activities and connect donors with beneficiaries by providing diverse donation opportunities, enabling individuals and companies to contribute, and working with public and private entities to boost the efficiency of the Kingdom’s nonprofit sector.
