Two citizens arrested for environmental violations in royal reserves

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended two citizens for violating environmental regulations in two separate incidents inside royal reserves. The violations involved entering a protected area with a vehicle and camping without a permit. Legal measures have been taken against both individuals.

According to the forces, the first incident involved a citizen who drove his vehicle into protected natural areas within the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve. The penalty for driving vehicles into these protected sites can reach a fine of 2,000 riyals (SAR).

In a separate case, the forces detained another citizen for camping without a permit inside the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. The penalty for camping in forests or national parks without a permit can reach 3,000 riyals.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security urged the public to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. They emphasized that all reports are handled with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
