Riyadh Royal Commission begins Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi bridge works on Jeddah Road project

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has begun construction of bridges at the Najm Al-Din Al-Ayyubi intersection, as part of the initial phases of the Jeddah Road development project.

According to a post by the commission on X, the works include building two main bridges to serve traffic in both directions, in addition to two U-turn bridges. These improvements aim to enhance traffic flow and improve connectivity between major routes.

The Jeddah Road development project spans 29 kilometers and involves constructing 14 bridges and expanding the road to five main lanes in each direction, increasing its capacity to over 350,000 vehicles daily. The project also includes pedestrian bridges to boost road safety.

The Jeddah Road upgrade is part of the broader program to develop Riyadh’s ring and main road corridors, launched by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The initiative aims to implement and upgrade more than 500 kilometers of the capital’s road network by improving existing corridors, enhancing their connectivity, and introducing new roads. This supports the creation of an integrated and sustainable urban transport system that keeps pace with the city’s rapid growth and improves quality of life.
