Iraq Summons the Chargé d'Affaires at his Embassy in Sweden, Asks Swedish Ambassador to Leave Baghdad
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the charge d'affaires at its embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, and also asked the Swedish ambassador in Baghdad to leave Iraqi territory in protest against allowing extremists in Sweden to offend Muslims sanctities. In a statement, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this came at the direction of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, in response to the Swedish government's repeated permission to extremists to dare to burn the Holy Quran and offend Islamic sanctities.
