Saudi Arabia delays response to East-West pipeline attack at Iraq's request

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Saudi Arabia has chosen not to respond at this stage to the attack on the East-West pipeline by drones launched from Iraq. The decision follows a request from the Iraqi prime minister to give the Iraqi government time to take measures to prevent further attacks originating from Iraqi territory against the Kingdom and neighboring countries, and in support of Iraqi government efforts.

The ministry had earlier strongly condemned the attack on the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions, which involved several drones launched from Iraq. The incident resulted in injuries and some damage, which is currently being addressed.

Saudi Arabia affirmed that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents.
