Al-Wiqad claims Makkah Region Governorate Cup at Taif races

Prince Fawwaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, today crowned the horse "Al-Wiqad" with the Makkah Region Governorate Cup, on behalf of Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region.

Al-Wiqad, ridden by jockey Aseel Al-Sarhani, trained by Mostafa Al-Mousa, and owned by Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, secured the title.

King Khalid Equestrian Field in Taif hosted the fifth event of the 2026 Taif racing season, featuring 11 races for various horse categories and classes.

The ninth race was dedicated to the Makkah Region Governorate Cup, attracting a select field of horses and drawing a large audience who closely followed the competition.

Award ceremony and crowd attendance

At the end of the race, the Taif Governor presented the cup to the owner in a festive atmosphere, as part of this year's Taif racing season events.
